MEMBERSHIP
Community Friends of Santa Barbara™ is a nonprofit run entirely by member-volunteers. With over 350 active members and two auxiliaries (Community Friends Auxiliary and TeenServe™) we deliver hands-on programs that support students, families, and individuals across Santa Barbara County.
We operate three facilities: a busy thrift shop, our main offices, and a dedicated multi-purpose building where children are welcomed and served. Every part of our organization is member-volunteer led, including our Board of Directors and committee chairs, who are elected each year and play an active role in planning and running all programs and operations.
Our member-volunteer run thrift shop is the primary source of funding for our 15 philanthropic programs. Because we have no paid staff and keep our expenses low, we are able to return significant support to the community year after year.

Donate to Make a Difference
Looking to donate items in Santa Barbara? We gratefully accept donations of gently used clothing, home goods, books, toys, and more during store hours. All donations are tax-deductible and help fund more than a dozen local programs that serve children, seniors, and families in need.
Everything in the shop is donated by generous community members, local merchants, and our own volunteers. Every purchase you make and every item you give supports our 75+ year legacy of giving back.
